hello friends;

This is a personal thought of mine i found
just tonight on the titanic disaster.
I have read it and I thought I would post it for you all to read.

This was written by me some 7 yrs ago. So please keep that in mind when you read this.
It is several pages so please bear with me . I promise,however,that it is good.

I will have to post a few times for it to get in here completely.

So starting with the next post.

Re: prelude to rms titanic for beginners.

ok here is part 1.

Her shortened life made her the most famous ship of all time. While the real ship sank some 85 years ago[nearly 86] , she is still afloat in the movies , websites, hearts, memories,body,and soul of every person living on this planet today.Perhaps she is a haunting memory of a very special time in the history of the world. The time when the human race world -wide was at its most vulnerable state. This is why she is still "afloat"[pardon the expression].There are many unspeakable reasons why titanic is so popular. There are so many that there is a thin line between our world and the world she is know for.That is what seperates reality from legend.
It is a realistic legend the perhaps will forever remain a legend[for actuall generations to come]even after the realistic part has long since vanished.

Perhaps the same reason that her people flocked to her is the same reason why our people of today are buying tickets,t-shirts, books , music, posters,movies,ect...about the ship.
If the world of today can find out why their world of yesterday ended[so tragicly]then we will perhaps find out what is so fascinating about our ship,our life, their ship and their life. She is quite possibly the only link to our past. A peice of history forever embedded in the ocean floor as well as in the minds of their people and ours.
She is the the thin line between past and present and our future. When you hear people talk about they almost always speak about her size, and how beuatifull she was , you'll even occasionally hear them speak of how the lights miraculously stayed on even under water. There is just something magical
about her and that can not be explained.

more to come in part 2.

Re: prelude to rms titanic for beginners.

part 2 ..

Perhaps the two questions that always come to mind is: What really happened that night? and
Could all of her passengers and crew have been saved?
Well no-one can really answer those questions.
No-one except perhaps the one person that went with her and her passengers and crew that fatefull night.
That person being officer William Murdoch. What went wrong? He could however only tell what he saw himself. You see in situations such as the titanic's sinking people's minds tend to protect them. They can see at first a man in a white shirt then only later realize it was a woman in a grey shirt.With knowing that; no-one can really even come close to understanding what happened that fatefull night on the 15th of april 1912. It is perhaps that mystery that rules the world. It is perhaps that mystery that keeps us captivated perhaps even breathless at the end of the movie, even though we one and all know the ending.[perhaps deep down inside of us each of us wanting so badly a different ending]
.

It is an ending to not only another movie , [one of countless movies] written about titanic , but it is also an ending of life,innocense , strength , pride, and a sense of stability. It is quiet possibly a beginning of many events to occur after her that goes on to show just how fast everything you've worked so hard for can slip through your fingers only to never be touched again.

This monster, this heep of steel, that lies in peices on the bottom of the north atlantic reminds us all the same of our true vulnerablity.
At points in our lives we get to be strong and powerful. Only then do we realize that when face to face with the monster [that is unsinkable that sank so many years ago,] too see her lying so far below and to realize what pride and neglegence ,security , and stupidity has done before.
We begin asking ourselves what it means to be proud.

When we see our past lying there in peices and knowing what she looked like before and after . It makes all those feelings of pride security and strength vanish only to be replaced by that very same feeling that the passengers and crew had that night.That sence of vulnerability. It's inescapable. She's a haunting reminder of what happened and what happens when we begin to feel confident about ourselves . The vulnerablity is always there. It's just only when confronted with our past or perhaps their past or "ending" do we feel that way. we feel helpless and it's[for most] a very uncompfortable feeling. We know what's said that happened . We know how she got where she is today and how many people she took with her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ok WOA take a breath.. wow didn't know it was this long.
ok part 3 comming up.
Re: prelude to rms titanic for beginners.
ok part 3... the conclusion.
She haunts our dreams . She makes a secure world turn into a bowl of jello- quite literally. That is what happens when we face our fears. Titanic is probably to me the one thing that scares me the most. And i say tha because to me because it shows how fast our lives can be taken from us . No matter what kind of a life we all are born into . Because in the end, we all die. And titanic's an awful reminder of that feeling. It is very emotionally challenging to face her.That is probably why so many are attracted to her .She is mystrious,vulnerable, and fascinating. The world craves mystery and she is by far the most well-known mystery of all time. At least the most popular. As long as books and movies are being made and written about her it is unfair to say the 1522 people died that night. I say this because as long as that stuff is being done they shall never perish....
We sometimes need a reminder of just how vulnerable we really are and titanic gives us that reminder.
To see it in pictures in books and to read about it is totally different. It is on a completely different scale to see the tragedy of our past come to life. It is as dramatic as seeing it in real person. Because the past. our past, is no longer limited to books. It is now realistic because we can see it in 3-d. And to me there is nothing more realistic than that.
To confront our past is a "devestating"experience . An experience like no other. However it is an experience one would soon not forget.
It has a nice ring to it but, speaking professionally, capitalisation and proper spelling would improve it immensely.
