Hi Wills

That would be great:-)

Ok on thread a bit does anyone have a full list of what personal posetions have been braugght up from Titanic, I probably do have a list of sort but not a comprehensive one. It could prove interesting in something I want to do. Not that I am for it but need to know

No, but I have seen a listing of all the personal posessions that were taken from the bodies recovered. It was published, just as the same kind of list was published for the unknown Gettysburg dead, in hopes that someone could come forward and identify the bodies but some familiar personal posession.
I had brought this to the attention of another forum once because I wondered where all those things are today: A museum someplace? Were they sold off? Or do they reside in some dusty and forgotten box in some back room of an office in Halifax or someplace?
What a treasure THAT would be!

Indeed it would, 7th Officer...one does wonder where all the personal property of the unclaimed bodies of Titanic's dead ended up...I imagine it would be very interesting if a box of it were sitting round someplace and could be accessed...though I would be a bit hesitant..out of respect for those who lost their lives...this is why I will not purchase RMS TITANIC reproductions of jewelry brought up from the wreck site...in the end we do not know who their owners were or whether or not they survived...however it is an interesting speculation.

Re: Whose Rings are these anyway?

This is sort of changing the subject, but this morning the curator (my boss) came by the lab with a young woman. Apparently the state has chipped loose enough funds for to hire a new lab assistant (yaaah!), this was the best applicant and it was a job interview. She was nice and then I noticed she was wearing some reproduction Titanic jewelry...I commented on it and she was surprised I recognized it.
Anyway she got the job and starting this week will now be working on some of the sunken ship stuff we have around here--I could sure use the help. (Might even get some photos sometime.)
I know it's off topic...but then I have never seen a forum that was better at staying off topic. But at least it has SOMETHING to do with Titanic rings....

It's also nice - most of us never get to talk Titanic to anyone except bits and pieces to friends, and even that has a limit. Lucky you, with someone already interested to talk to!
