She's drawn blood even before she sailed (the people killed when a gangway collapsed), so I fully expect a major disaster sometime along the way. She may be the biggest, but the best? NO WAY! All the REAL beauties have either been scrapped or sent to the bottom!!! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lights)Tue, 19 Jul 2005 17:53:18 +0000 Re: Largest Ship Nowadays!https://btomdyerstitanicsitecommunity.runboard.com/p1059,from=rss#post1059https://btomdyerstitanicsitecommunity.runboard.com/p1059,from=rss#post1059Yes. The QM2 is currently the largest ship pulling in at 1113 ft long and 150,000 tons. And Wills, Like we say will have to check but I am more than sure it is bigger. In fact most liners nowadays are indeed bigger than the Titanic. I am also aware that Military (Carriers) are very large indeed. Are these ships you mentioned still running?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Titanica)Mon, 15 Mar 2004 20:57:02 +0000 Re: Largest Ship Nowadays!https://btomdyerstitanicsitecommunity.runboard.com/p1034,from=rss#post1034https://btomdyerstitanicsitecommunity.runboard.com/p1034,from=rss#post1034Hi Titanica Today most ships of the cargo type are indeed larger than Titanic. But I will assume you mean passenger ship. Caribbean international cruises used to hold the largest ships of a passenger service, These where "The Voyager of the Seas" and "Explorer of the Seas" These two craft where and are 1,020 feet long 158 feet wide. And at 140,000 tones they carry aprox 3000 passengers and 2000 crew members. Now I am not at all sure without checking if the new QM2 is bigger will look unless someone can say before me.
