Titanic 2 the new ship.

hi
i am new to this forum and this is my first topic.

I read a couple of weeks ago that the plans for a ship that looks like the Titanic but is updated a little for todays market as went in to the planning office.
the ship is going to look the same as the titanic and is going to be true to her memory.

the ship is going to be called Titanic 2.

I would like to hear what anyone thinks of this should there be another Titanic?

I think they should be as long as they are going to be true to her memory.

hi,

Welcome to the forum.

I have wanted to see a Titanic 2 since I was 8 years old but I think it is unlikely that there ever will be one. Many people have claimed that they were going to build a Titanic 2 but none of them ever have.

If someone did build a Titanic 2 it would have to be very much different from the Titanic because for today’s standards it would be illegal and dangerous to build a ship like her.

Another problem is Titanic was designed to be an express ship in 1912 so the accommodation would have to be completely different for a 2006 cruise ship.

The way the original titanic was maid would cost millions to do today and would not be as original and probaly wouln't end up being liner but would be a awesome tourist attraction but i wouldnt get my hopes up about this rumor...anyway titanic was a part of the past that should probaly be left alone. thats like saying lets build another world trade center it just wouldnt be the same.

Just like Queen Mary 2, couldn't Titanic 2 also be built to become a cruise ship? emoticon

With all the equipment required to satisfy regulations to be a cruise ship today she would look rather different to the Titanic we know and love so I doubt it would ever happen, sadly. The best bet would be a floating hotel and conference centre incorporating a Titanic/White Star Line museum.

The new Titanic that is made to look like the bow is probably the closest to a Titanic 2.

My last post was meant to say the replica Titanic bow at Pigeon Forge - http://www.titanicpigeonforge.com/

I would love to go to the museum in Branson and Pidgeon Forge. I have also always wanted to visit Queen Mary in Long Beach, go to New York and go back to San Francisco but sadly I think it will be a while before I get the chance.

Yes, maybe they will do something at the Titanic Quarter in Belfast. I have not been up to date on that project for ages. I know that they recently applied for planning permission to convert the old Harland and Wolff headquarters into a Titanic themed hotel.

I would like to see something in Southampton as well, as you can’t get to Belfast from Great Britain without going on a ferry and for most people flying.
