at least that is what i have been told.
i want to be an officer in the navy...
i want to be in the royal navy though ..funny huh/
anyway i cant go . so i guess im stuck here on land as a landlubber..

I wanted to be in RN as well, Passed all my qualifications for officer but got held back on medical.

Getting danerously off topic here, but most all my forebears were naval officers (brother was Annapolis class of '64)....and I joined the...army--and I turned down a commission too. My father said (or rather screamed) "You joined the WHAT??"
I wanted to be a senior NCO of infantry (I must have read too many Sgt. Rock comic books as a kid). Took a few years (like eleven) but I finally achieved a life long ambition and became a senior sergeant in the 10th Mountain Div. Light infantry...the first of my family in the army since the Civil War (we had navy in that one too).
I know it was screwy, but not many folks can say they have actually achieved a life ambition--whatever it is. Done some other ones too.
