Re: New hull piece found
Hi Graham
I mysellf have not been to a exhibit and to be honest it would take me a lot to actually go to one for personall preference nothing more, But I have heard people say it is a touching moment and I can see and feel why and am sure it is a moving moment for all who have done so.
I know I am crossing threads here a bit, but in another great deep sea recovery which a Japanese sub was found, and later relieved of her cargo. we are looking at a shallow depth for the titanic, and my fear is more and more of her is going to be brought to the surface which means a bit more of the coffin is taken from its resting place.

Re: New hull piece found
Well, I still think Titanic is deep enough that most of her will be left alone - maybe I'm just an optomist. Perhaps we should be contacting the places that give those dives to the ship and have some sort of handout so all those going down to the ship could learn all she means to us - if this is a good isea and you guys agree, I'll suffer the expense myself.

Re: New hull piece found
HI TTF
I personaly think it is a great idea, And I could get the backing of many maritime museums here in with us as I have worked with most and know the people well. As for the expence any help I may be able to offer I would be only too willing.
But I am sure with backing from people associated here and our contacts in the maritime industry including Dr Ballard himsellf I think maybe we could pull it off. Weather it will do any good is another thing but always the optomist:-)

Re: New hull piece found
OK, first decision - do we do this on our own, or do we include other Titanic websites and forums in it?

Re: New hull piece found
Personally I would say on our own, apart from anything else other boards are unique in the fact they want to dive to the wreck and plunder and pillage a site of what I still concider a grave.
Plus it is a chance to do something and not just sit and talk about it like they loike to do
