Californian

Hi, I am interested in the role the Californian played in or as it now shows, Did'nt play in the Titanic Saga. Following this tragedy Captain Lord came in for a lot of bad publicity, and as such had to live out his life branded as the Captain that did nothing. Others views on this please. Navigator II

HI Navigator

Ohh come now me mellowing :-) I am sure you know me better than that, like the Canadian mounty I always get my man. I also run by the saying revenge is when I want it . So yes ok I have mellowed a slight.

As for Lord, well I personaly would stand up for the Capatain as I doubt he had any options to get to Titanic anyway. Stuck in ice pack ship switched off etc. Reading the reports from both Inquieries I do believe he did not have a case to answer to and once again inbthe titanic world he has been made a scapegoat.

Graham and Tom I think we agree here on one thing that Lord was unfairly treated, I remember reading on another site sometime ago about Walter Lords Case, But can't think for the life of me where it was. I will check through webrings and google to see if I can track down that site. I know at the time of my visit it seemed to be getting a lot of attemtion. So if I find it again I will let you know. But as I say I have been trying to remember it for weeks now. Navigator
