Who would you befriend and spend the most time with?

OK, heres one for all you that wish there was a way to go back in time to have the experience of titanic...if that were possible there has to be one or more people that you would have loved to have gotten to know and maybe even kicked back a few with..whom would that be?

In my case, it would be Will Murdoch. I have heard he was very easy to talk to and I would love to talk to him...maybe toss back a tea or two.

Re: Who would you befriend and spend the most time with?

Hi

I am going to be really different here, If anyone I would of loved to of spent time with a few people.

The first is Clinch Smith, He was a first class passenger aboard and lost his life. I did a lot of work on him and my partner at the time. He was such a great character and very close and good friend of Colonel Gracie who managed to survive.

Another person I would like to shoot ball and drink with is Stead, We have so much in common on some things and his editorials are still something to think about. His belief's and ability are similar in style and ways to my own. Plus he came from where I am near now and his relatives are good people.

But also I would of liked to be with some third class, They seem to be left out in any major discussion on Titanic. They where the ones who where going to loose the most. They had there whole lives packed in the cargo hold or on body. Unlike first and most second class people they if they did survive still lost everything.

As for crew, well now where do I start. EJ the man himself. Respected loved by passengers and the line. What wonderful images he had on life if you look into him. Now there is a man who could have a good time yet keep his composure at the same time.

Murdoch, Fantastic personality,

Lightoller, Well what can one say he went from one venture full of excitement to the next. And if it was not there he would manufacture it. I use the Gary here as a example. He always put his crew first and stood by them in the manner a good officer should. Never shirked responsibility and was loved by all who touched his life. If he allowed them in of course.

Moody, The young debonair officer. Full of grace for anyone and the full understanding of life at sea. He saw the horror of seamanship from the start but buckled down and carried on a lot of people would of walked away and headed for another career. He was like lights not going to see people drown. Plus again from my home town. I can imagine him now playing pool at the local and running down to the harbour when the life boat goes out making sure he was aboard to help.

Ismay, well you all expected that didn't you. He was a great man. Lost in the world of media hype. But gentle and caring in his own way. His Father now there is a man to drink with. Elder and professional in all he did. Built things from the bottom not handed on a plate like so many of his followers.

Then there is the story of the owner of the Black Ball line. Real pirate. he even stole the name of the line. Brilliant man but a bad one. The sort you want on your side in the local pub brawl. Black Ball line ships by the way was the last ship to still carry canons on passenger runs across the Atlantic.

So take your pick look round the room next time you are in the pub or local and I will be there sat with them laughing drinking and maybe a lit bit of the other :-)

Regards
Graham

I COuld see you now graham sitting round a big table just kicking back a few and hanging out with all of them thats great that you find something in detail good about every officer and al ot of others on board...hmm if only time travel were possible, but wait then youd get some of the people i know from school on there hooking up the sound systems on board so al you could hear was booming bass coming from the ship.

Hi Titanicangel06

Thank you for the compliment I think it was anyway:-)

On me sat there with the crew and officers I would feel great. Maybe time travel in the future is not quite possible but who knows, The time travel backwards in a sense may be possible depending on belief.

It is funny but sat in a small room in the back of the crown and anchor in Redcar with the relative of Stead, knowing she is going to get you up on the karaoke machine it nearly feels right apart from the last bit. Susan can talk like her relative act like him and certainly can work like him. I call her black eye Susie. Plus Granddad looks the spit of Stead.

So in a way I do sit with him. The others I just talk to :-)

well i don't think i would actualy have to answer this one cause my name says it all.

i would love to talk with him but i think if i met him than all the others that i would like to meet would just fall into place.

i would love to meet and hang out with william. i dont think keeping up with him would be a problem for me as to the fact i ama store manager so i am use to being on the go . i would like topick his brian and find out about his family his wife his thoughts and feelings ...
however i have always been told to be carefull what you wish for you just may get it.

i also know that clinch smith would be a great person to speak to .. he was a real charmer easy going . his freind col gracie would be a great guy to talk as well.

anyway i believe i am rambling...
graham i think ismay is a great person to talk to as well .. you just seem to be the type to pick him to talk too though lol. nothing wrong with that either. i would like to know a few things from him as well.

hi Wills

It is a great true saying " be careful what you wish for..." I have wished for many a thing only for it to turn out true, and then wished I hadn't wished for it in the first place.

As people go Ismay was a great character as was the Family and still are today. go toys r us with them, no second thoughts better not they do not like it in there now for some reason, :-)
