Hi!
quote: What was Titanics Total horsepower ?
Olympic's -- essentially the same as Titanic's -- was estimated to be capable of a maximum of 59,000 horsepower in 1911. There is no record, to my knowledge, of whether this was specified as shaft horsepower or indicated horsepower.
Best regards,
Mark.

Again the figure I have is 51,000, like you not sure what figure this is, again from the Titanic society Belfast.
By the way Mark are you going to the Lusitania lecture in Liverpool next month?

That's probably correct for normal service, but I'd believe Olympic's Chief Engineer and his 59,000 horsepower anyday.
I didn't know that there was a Lusitania lecture in Liverpool.
Best regards,
Mark.

Re: the engine bit
Hi Mark
I agree with you a engineer would have more info than most and has no reason to miss interpret it either.
The Lusitania lecture is on May 6th, Merseyside maritime museum, lecture theatre at 7-30 doors open 6-30. It is by Diana Preston and titled wilful murder. I hope to be staying over for the night as well but will let all know.
Regards
Graham
