Thaught for today

Hi All

I know this post should go out tonight but for a moment lets just pay a thought to the crew and passengers of the ill fated ship Titanic. 92 years ago as now they where still safe and content. Some had there own personal problems and others where just eagerly awaiting the next dry land to start again. The crew where eager to show the ship as a great vessel which was going to ply many years trade to the rich famous and poor alike. The crews would be able to expand on there knowledge of technology and seaman ship,

Aboard was the gentry of the day, showing there wealth by having grand staterooms, party's and fine clothes and jewellery, Happy in the fact they are sailing on the maiden voyage of the greatest ship afloat.

Goods and chattels in the holds where destined for foreign shores to be sold as always to fellow humans. Peoples belongings that had taken a life time to acquire where been transported to start anew. No one could envision what was just a few hours away from them.

Lives lost and positions lost with them. Mail to loved ones abroad gone to the abyss,

The crew never did know what was ahead of them that faithful trip. All in there own way did the duty expected of them as all passengers did there's in a way only known by them.

It is not a time to reflect on what should of or should not of been done but a time to reflect that we are mere mortals placed here till our time is up. For most there's was up and we should remember them in peace.and let them rest in peace as well.

My own thoughts go out to them today in many ways and I hope yours do as well. silent prayer and homage is what they deserve.

To the soles who died in peace god bless them and the soles who died restless one can only hope they find the peace they require somewhere better than the bottom of the ocean.

wow graham,,,
that was deep man....
you are right when it comes right down to it these people are not just numbers and pictures in books they were human beings they had a life before titanic and they all were at this time laughing and cutting up with fellow passengers some were in bed dreamming the dreams of a promised land.

none of them knowing what lied ahead of them in the black north atlantic waters.

they all were husbands ,fathers, mothers, wives, sisters and brothers and so on. everyone had a place at that time . parties
or just sitting in the reading room reading a book they began on the 1st day of the voyage. determined to finish it by the end.

they were people like you and i and when you think that way of them it really becomes something very surreal.
it makes you sad for them and wish the everlasting peace .

so today lets wish them a hearty rest in peace . and i hope they all find what they are looking for. and get what they are needing .

that i believe is what makes titanic so 'human' was because of all her casualities.

rest in peace all the officers, crew and passengers of the ill-fated rms titanic.
april 14-15 1912.

92 years ago today the saga began and it is still going as strong today as it was in the year 1912.
