Actually, it's not as much an if as a can you afford it?http://www.spaceadventures.com/terrestrial/innerspace/titanic2003.html
offers them at $36,000 a pop or so - about 21,525 Pounds Sterling. I think an "ouch" is called for here.

From what I understand, a lot of these things are going into hibernation, as the waters that follow the submersibles are roiling the water around Titanic so much they are speeding up her disintegration.

C'mon, Tom, you know the world is always changing - humans hate it, but I'm afraid Mother Nature just enjoys frog-marching us all along...

You GO, Starry. A marine archelogist? That's cool! I am considerably older than you, but I hope to go back to school to get a degree in oceanography, and if I can hijack a submersible, it'll be "Titanic, here I come!"

I think the whole submersible thing would stop me dead. I just have a real problem with being so deep under water with no way out.
That said, I'd LOVE to visit Titanic. I just don't have the guts.
i agree mayrose.
the day they bring her to the surface is the day i will visit her. i have very bad panic attacks and the thought of being under that much water and that close to death no way could i do it.
they would have to knock me out or something till we got down there. i think though once i got there i woudl be ok . but the first place i would go to would be will's cabin.
