Re: First Officer William Murdoch
Also, wouldn't you, if you were Aid &/or Elizabeth, while the man we love is at sea, get to know each other while the cat's away? I know I would, if I were the former, and furthermore--I wouldn't put it past her either.

Re: First Officer William Murdoch
How if you were overwhemed with pure curiosity about the other woman? Wouldn't you be curious enough to want to meet her? That's what I mean, Aid must've been absolutely dying with curiosity about Elizabeth, and vice-versa.

Re: First Officer William Murdoch
I agree. Besides, Aid was too much of a lady, and her business was to just be there for Will, whenever he would return home to her.
I just wonder how Elizabeth fared in his absence?

Re: First Officer William Murdoch
For the record, ladies, there is no truth at all to Cogent being the "other woman". This is nothing at all more that rumour and has no basis whatsoever in fact that the man so named served as a deck officer on Titanic.
Whilst married to Aid, William Murdoch saw no other woman in England, Liverpool or otherwise. Given his schedule and duties this was impossible.
If you want facts on the man's life, ask. I don't deal in rumours.

Re: First Officer William Murdoch
This isn't just a rumor, Will...this family honestly believes that WMM is their gt. grandfather. You would know that, if you read the openning of this thread.

Re: First Officer William Murdoch
Hang on a sec, weren't there TWO William Murdochs on Titanic? The Chief Officer and (I think) a trimmer or a stoker? Could this family be related to the other one, possibly?

TTF, check out my new thread--Fireman William Murdock - the other Murdoch. Then you will see that he isn't the common-law spouse of Elizabeth Crogent, but Catherine (surname unknown) is.
