a poem for james moody
its not very good,
You were a young man, just 24 years of age
pulled down in the sea and killed by a violent wave
i look at a picture and see your face
it wasnt fair! are you in a better place?
your family were distraught, they couldn't accept gods plan
why did he take you? you just a man
what was the reason? was it just fate?
that you left this world to enter heavens gate?
so young and cheerful with a life of your own
yet you went with so many, you were not alone
a father who loved you asked wher you are
then he made a wish to god that he give you a star
91 years later, i often wonder where you are,
but every time i see a star so bright and clear
it brings to my eyes a peaceful tear.
what do you think, dont laugh its the first time i've put any of my poetry on the internet lol

Beautiful poem, it is, mrsmoody. It brought even a tear or two to my eye, because if you replace James Moody's name with Will Murdoch's name, your poem would fit him to a "T" too.

Re: a poem for james moody
I second that, MurdochsAid...it IS a lovely poem and a very good first effort. I always have considered Moody's death, whilst heroic, very sad, as he was so young, with so much ahead of him. Keep writing, mrsmoody!
