Re: The Poseidon Award

Actually, I think that Titanic should get the four-funnels down - why should we defend a bad script (an innacurate one as well), merely because the sets were well-done? None of the plot was realistic - as a matter of fact, it was JUNK. The idea of an upper-class girl getting close to a third-class boy, much less his sneaking on to First-Class - and the rest - GARBAGE, folks, tawdry, badly-written, trite, hackneyed garbage.

Re: The Poseidon Award

i agree ttf .
he had the oppurtunity to make a great film and actually bring titanic to life but instead he was more worried about jack and roses outfits and everything instead of worring about the facts. it was a movie gone bad lol.

bad script as well but i think he tried to make up for it with gota. butim not sure that went over as well as he was expecting. anyway it also most likely was another way for him to cash in on titanic and he had the chance and took it.

anyway i am myself trying to remain quiet on this one but i am finding it very difficult. lol.

I've always [sign in to see URL] will always [sign in to see URL] real star of Cameron's Titanic was the Lady Herself. Sucky was the nicest word I could think of to describe the whole ridiculous rich girl/poor boy love [sign in to see URL] short it wouldn't have happened!

The attempt to make crew and officers look like a lot of [sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL] on my nerves as [sign in to see URL] one could be as bad [sign in to see URL], TTF and just about everyone knows whom I am about to [sign in to see URL] was the worst hack job I have seen done in a long [sign in to see URL] the bribe scene with [sign in to see URL], I would say aside from the sets and the special F/X, the film was pretty much garbage!

Hi All

I have said that all along:-)

I have watched the film once, and once only. It is at the back of the vid shelf and never watched. I was absolutly disgusted that a so called respected researcher on the field turned out such a sham.

Yes, it is sad that people can't even get something so well documented historically right.

I agree with you, Lights, that our grand "Queen of the Ocean" was the real star of Cameron's [sign in to see URL] those shots of her were awesome!!! I also didn't like the way they portrayed our deck officers, except for one [sign in to see URL] Officer Harold Godfrey Lowe, of course--Captain Smith. I too, hated the bribe scene between Cal & Will, for I know he never would accept a bribe.

I just hope that your "Final Crossing" makes its way to a film studio, and finally to the big [sign in to see URL] I love the way you yourself told the factual story of Titanic.

Anyway, I would like to toss in TITANIC 1953, Debbie Reynolds' The Unsinkable Molly Brown, and the TITANIC miniseries, as a trio of contenders for the Poseidon Award too.

i think that it was a shame that historians turned out such a bad thing. but in the end of the day it was up to jc. for the final script.
