Re: The WORST Titanic Novel I've EVER REad!!

Now, question is, 7th Officer, did you manage to keep your breakfast where it belonged whilst reading this mess?

Chuck Lightoller indeed! (walks off [sign in to see URL] deleted....!)

Well, I did [sign in to see URL] even kept the thing on my Titanic bookself--but behind the books out of sight (no kidding that's where I put it).
Some of it I thought quite offensive the way the author screwed with history--that bothers me. But not only offensive to us Titanic afficiandos, but more so to anyone with a grain of intelligence as well.
I can stand a book with a new slant--they can make me think and ponder. I can stand even 'revisionist' history as it keeps me on my [sign in to see URL] this stuff? Oh come on!
You need to write one.

Keep us posted so we can watch you get grossed [sign in to see URL]'t quit on us now, you just HAVE to read every Titanic book ever to come out--just so you can SAY you have. I know with this one it will be a struggle, but you can do it. Lights and I have, so you certainly can.

Page 182 and fading fast. I can only read so much in one sitting and I get queasy.

On the other hand, compared with some of the stuff I had to read when I worked as a reader for a publisher's one summer (they still accepted unsolicted manuscripts, which I and three other people had to read) this one isn't terrible...

When one reads a book such as this, one is well advised to keep a BIG bottle of anti- emetic near (my personal favourite is Emetrol emoticon !

Yeah, remember I read it on a camping trip--finished it ONLY because it happened to be the only book I [sign in to see URL]'s how you have to read it--be a zillion miles away from civilzation with only ONE book--THAT one!
Could you imagine if you had already read it and then found out that was the only book you had on a camping trip? Yike! I think I'd rather read food labels.... emoticon
