Re: Thomas Andrews--Voyage Into History
Oh, goodie, I smell another thread coming up! This IS the Gardiner who seems to think that Titanic was really Olympic and was deliberately crashed onto an iceberg and sunk in what amounts to an insurance fraud scheme gone horribly awry, right?

Re: Thomas Andrews--Voyage Into History
he does have some interesting theories i think but most of them are far our and are harder to reach then titanic herself. it does however make for interesting reading.

Re: Thomas Andrews--Voyage Into History
My personal view on Gardiner is that he deserves a horselaugh and a trash can. It's kinda fun to go over to ET and watch them turn red in the face and scream at each other about why the Hell he gets published (always with the inference their books deserve it more). I once made the MAJOR mistake of trying to put some reality in there - i.e., that the publishers publish him because he sells. And very well. And after all the publisher is in business to make money.
Talk about a cold shoulder and dead silence.....

Re: Thomas Andrews--Voyage Into History
Well, that's the truth, Lee...if you sell, you get published...sheesh! Are those guys at ET brain-dead or what?!

Re: Thomas Andrews--Voyage Into History
Let's be charitable and just say the main problem with common sense is it isn't.
