I'm not sure JC Titanic was that historically correct, at least in one area. I have never heard or read any where that officer Murdoch shot a passenger then himself. If that's not ture then I think JC is a dispicable person for putting that in the film. If it is true, then there are an awful lot of books out there that are not telling the whole story. I have seen the same sceen in another Titanic film, so at the moment I am not that sure if this took place. So if anyone can enlighten me on this I would be greatful. emoticon

Hi, Couchbunny,

There are two schools of thought on the suicide...there are a couple of survivor accounts which say that Murdoch committed suicide...I shall have to go looking for the quotes to put up when time permits. Also before his death Second Officer Charles Lightoller told a close friend that an officer on the TITANIC had shot himself, but he refused to say which one.

More despicable to me was the bribe scene with Cal...now that is an insult to the memory of a fine man!!

Lights,

I'm completely with you, when it comes to finding that bribe scene completely despicable. For it is, indeed, an insult to the memory of such a fine man as Will.

As for the suicide scene, I will say this...atleast we know the truth about what "really" happened. And that's all that truly matters, doesn't it? But yet, I "still" find it pretty painful, just thinking about it.emoticon

Hi, Im late as usual! But in ref to the question, I have a hard time with the way that a few of the officers were portrayed in JCs version. The computer graphics were awsome, but according to JC murdoch definately comitted suicide(which was never proven and probably wasnt him anyway), lightholler was a non compassionate stiff rigid officer who would have "shot them like dogs"(i find it very hard to believe that he used those degrading words to panicing people), and moody, well, he was just always in the way and also pushed around very easily; like when cal and lovejoy were running through the officer area to follow rose and jack, moody stated "sir you cant go through here" and both men were just able to push him out the way and he did nothing. Somehow I find that hard to believe. He was caring and comapssonate but he was no pushover and he certainly followed the rules. Murdoch taking a bribe, c'mon I dont buy it. I like the movie and it is not by far the worst but i do have some serious pet pieves about it

Lights, I also found the brib sceen distasteful and titanicangel I agree with you about the officers not being shown in a good light but it wasn't just the officer, he didn't do much for the passengers either. I'm mean what was that sceen with Jack, Rose and the little boy all about, it was quite obvious they were trying to save him but the father just snatch him away from them, did he think they were going to hold him for ransom or kidnap him and pass him off as there own, although he was much to old to be theirs. They were in the middle of the Atlantic on a sinking ship for goodness sake and can anyone tell me if the water on the inside of the Titanic was wamer then the water out side off the Titanic as Jack and Rose were running around in the water a good half an hour before the ship sank, without any ill effects.
Concidering I have only seen this film once and I did not like it, I think way to much about it, so maybe I should shut up on the subject emoticon
Graham forget the funny hand shake, all members just have to send me great big wodges of cash in easy to carry bags. emoticon

yes i agree with you couchbunny, the passengers werent done justice either. There were times in that movie when they had just come out of the water and were dry as could be. And i could go on, like i said its not thee worst film i have seen by far, but i think JC could have done a little better at getting the characters right. He basically set in stone that murdoch was the one who killed himself and that is just not fair in my eyes to murdoch or his family and supproters.

Re: Worst TITANIC Movie

Hi Carol

Over the years I have researched a few funny things, Funny as in out of the extraordinary, One such thing was the apparent kidnapping of a survivor. I have a lot of info on this and some strange occurrences afterwards. I will try to get it in here soon.

As for the money no problem a bag containing such a stash is currently hidden in a dark place inside a bag, It is due east under the bush with green leaves on it.

H angel

As for JC I am honestly ashamed towards him as he had the perfect time and money to make a titanic movie that would show what really happened and depict the whole disaster correctly, But as always his wallet ruled the roost. It got thicker by not doing the good thing.
