A lot of people have delved into the gold theory and I know a couple who are taking it real serious.

Graham

really well i am not so sure about the gold theory in the first place but it is like lights said anything will get torn up or destroyed no matter what it is.

It all depends on how much gold - an expidition like that costs several milion at the very least.

Well, for what it is worthy...I believe there is little, if any gold on that ship...like I said at this point, there might be q few gold leafed items around, but after ninety-plus years, even that is kinda debatable...unfortunately, if some people even SMELL gold (ora rather THINK they smell it), an expeditions down there is not out of the questions...the only hope is that these characters (trying to be nice and keep it clearn, folks, but I'll just subsdtitue "looters" for "charaters" anyhow...)will give it a go. emoticon emoticon

Re some of the comments about new technology.
I agree it is too scary to think of the damage that greed will cause to the wreck. Salvage is one thing but hacking cutting or whatever is without doubt sacriledge.
If only all of the Titanic societies could own the wreck between them. Or just pool their resources then it may be possible to employ a full time monitor of activities surrounding the ship.
Just a thought.

Hi Foxes

Interssting theory but not too shure it can work, The main problem is some and I stress some of the officials of the societies are not what you may call preservers and only out for what they can get out of it. Like any society there is the good ones and bad ones, The case where Brian Tich, had to or felt he had to resighn from the UK one proves this.

A monitor would be hard to place but saying that it can be done with todays technology.

I should think so...if ripoff artists can practice their chosen craft via computers, there should be some way for a monitor to be overseeing this whole thing...

Hi Lights

Placing camera down there is the easy part, And from there it only takes a 24/7 monitor, but if you concider the sight is so big how it would be policed is a difficult part of the whole thing.

Imagine a pirate or whatever you want to call them is seen on camera, the ocean is a big place and how do you send a ship out to catch them, It would take days for them to reach and by then they could be miles away with bits and pieces.
